MKIV Scratch Build

I'm starting the looooooong process of scratch building a MKIV. Got the body ordered, now starting to plan out the chassis / components. I've built a couple of factory fives, now I'm jumping in at the very deep end. This is a huge learning process on my end but I'm hoping I can pick the brains of the experts on this great forum.

My plan is to start my CAD design at the 4 corners of the chassis then work inwards. My first question: What is everyone using for suspension components on these builds ? What can I source easily in the US ?

After 30 years of dreaming, 12 years of reading here in the forum, I can finally start to realize my dream of the MK IV.
I know it's going to be a very long race, but hey what the heck if not now then when.

For a long time I thought I wouldn't get any parts, but thanks to the forum, it still worked.

First I put some of the parts on a rack to see how they fit together.
So I can now take all the measurements I need for the tube frame.
Maybe I will bring everything with a 3D scanner into my CAD program

I hope the whole thing will be riding sometime - keep your fingers crossed for me...

For all you scratch builders, is there a particular suspension brand that is preferred for these cars in general ? Not just the MK IV but other variants ?
