New Advertiser - WeberCarbs.com

I tried contacting Weber carb companies because we clearly need some sort of supporting member in this area and WeberCarbs.com stepped up to the plate and seemed very interested in working with the GT40 and Cobra community. I'd encourage you to check their site out, check out their prices, and see if they can help you out.

Have you tried to contact REDLINEWEBER? They sell webers, weber look-alike throttle bodies and even have engine management systems.

I talked to a guy who used these guys on his Cobra motor. They went well beyond the normal call of duty in working with him. He was very impressed with them. And, they work very closely with our buddy Wayne Presley at Very Cool Parts.

BTW: I notice that Wayne hasn't been on much since he moved to Atlanta. I know he sold his GT40 that was in the Sheryl Crow video. Has anyone talked to Wayne lately?

I talked to Wayne the other day about Webers for my 40. He is very busy with all sorts of stuff. The quote I got from him was the best of all the people I spoke with. Plus he sets them up with a baseline setting.

Glad to hear that. I see that his website is up and updated, so I assumed he was doing OK, but it's good to hear a first hand report. Wayne is good people and he added a lot to the forum when he was actively developing his GT40. It was also so cool to see Sheryl* Crow, DE Jr. and all those GT40 cars, including Wayne's, in the Steve McQueen video. I watched MTV for a week (not something I normally do to see that video. It was very exciting to see one of our guys get his work showcased like that.

Isn't that Top End Performance? I think they have a few sites that are all them, ie, www.twm-induction.com, www.racetep.com etc. The are a few miles from my house. Tried to call them several times about a TWM setup but get the answer machine. Hopefully it is because they are busy, and as they say 'They won't be undersold'...I'm hesitant to keep trying as my credit card can't take another hit /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Ron - Any GT40s.com specials coming?

As a side question Anyone run a TWM injection on ported heads like Canfields, BIG AFR's, Victors? The port sizes that were qutoted (From TWM) seemed small but I can't remember it all now.

I am not sure TEP and TWM are the same as RedlineWeber. I think they all just sell one another's stuff. TWM was Goleta, CA and it looks like TEP maybe TWM's retail front. My 1999 docs from TWM had this as the footer: TWM Induction 325D Rutherford St, Goleta CA 93117. Tel 805-967-9478. Wayne also sells TWM stuff.

You might want to call Very Cool Parts at 760-403-6266. By the way, Wayne didn't move to Atlanta, it was Enterprise AL (one of my typical brain farts, but I knew it was in the deep south.) Or, RedlineWeber directly at 800-733-2277 Press Option 3.

Fellows, I don't know. I contacted Inglase, Pierce, and Webercarbs. Plus, I got quotes from all over them and by far, Webercarbs gave the best prices, with baseline jets, and the fastest service. I've dealt with Pierce before and it depends on who you get - sometimes good, sometimes bad. I picked Webercarbs as an advertiser because of the "interview" process while working with them, they seemed the best company for our community. I hope they'll get some business from the forum, I know they'll get mine when I order the IDAs.

I just found TWM Induction in Goleta, CA. It looks like the racing outlet as opposed to TWM-induction.com which is TEP and the retail outlet, I am guessing. But, I also noticed that the TWM Induction and RedlineWeber logos are styled exactly the same. Although all of these have different websites, addresses and phone numbers, I am beginning to think that you are right: if you dig deep enough, they'll all end up being a part of the same organization.

I wasn't clear, but racetep.com, WebberCarbs.com, and TWM-Induction.com are all the same I think. I spoke with Steve at TEP and he was very helpful and has good understanding on what's needed for a GT40 install for the TWM injection. The guy that I spoke with AT TWM was less then helpful, but could have just caught a guy answering the phones that day.

Steve's pricing was very good in any case (TWM Injection), and he is local so likely go that route.

Not doubting that at all, but it does appear that Webercarbs, Redlineweber, TEP and TWM are all intimately related, if not owned by the same interests as Sandy pointed out.

Inglese Induction Systems and Pierce Manifolds Inc. appear to be separate from the bunch above. Although, Inglese is no longer a separate company but is owned by Total Performance Inc. a hot rod conglomerate. It certainly looks like there has been a lot of consolidation within the performance parts industry as in many other types of companies. Pierce Manifolds, in Gilroy CA - hey Patrick D. want to give them a visit for us?- seems to be a independent. They do distribute Mangoletsi manifolds which are made in England though.

The only name I don't see in your list is Kinsler in Detroit, but they are strictly fuel injection and don't distribute Weber stuff. They also cater to the racing world and are somewhat pricey as well. But, they do know about GT40s; as I have related here before, the senior Mr. Kinsler owns the GT40 that GM bought in order to reverse engineer it. Kinsler, a one time GM employee, bought the car in boxes for next to nothing at a plant surplus sale.

I know of others who have used Carbs Unlimited for the weber option and come complete with manifold, linkage, carbs (48 IDA's) etc. for the 289/302 - $2995.00 for the kit and range from the 289/302 to 460 applications.

I got my TWM injection and am in the process of finishing off the engine. My dealings with them was very good. They were prompt and am satisfied with the service. The intake comes with the throtle position sensor already installed. I have modified my intake ports to match my AFR 205s. As you can see from my posting, the ports can be enlarged quite a bit. The Felpro gaskets match up perectly. I might have been able to go a little further, but being the first porting job I chose not to go too wild.Scroll down to the bottom of the post Here
to see the work needed. If you scroll way back in the post you will see the intake as it arrived. The intake horns come unpolished, but a little of Mother's Billet Polish and a polishing wheel on the grinder and voila.
BTW, be sure to tell them it is for a mid engine setup and they will reverse the throtle bodies so that the fuel rail is in the middle pointing toward the front of the engine. Otherwise it will be pointing to the rear of the car. I told them, but they must have forgotten, so I did it myself. Not a difficult job at all.

Thanks also for being so willing to work with and support the GT40 community. I think that one thing is clear through out the thread: the weber distribution network is full of good people to work with and Top-End Performance and WeberCarbs.com is the most willing to work with us. As the Aussie contingent says, "Good On You!"

Bill, thanks for the info. I working on a very similar drive package, I'll likely get it running with the 4bbl, and play with the injection. I'll be pulling the die-grinder out as you did to match them up. The port look small from the factory for sure. Steve was on top of the mid engine thing and will be switching around the fuel rails, again very helpful from his end on the asking the questions.
