Welcome to GT40S Coleman. Many people will recommend picking your transaxle first and then configure your engine accordingly. Ask plenty of questions, there are some extremely smart and talented people on this forum that will try and answer any questions you throw at them. Read all the build threads you can find.

Thank you sir! The car I want to build will likely come with a Graziano transaxle, brand new. I'll look for threads on that component here; because I also want to see what people are doing to modify those gearboxes for different race applications.
Yeah I havent contacted Superlite yet. I only found their website in 2021 and been shifting things around to complete the purchase and build. Are they backed up?

Hi Coleman Bee Tom Fuschetti here, Are you getting left hand or right hand drive? I recommend a Porsche 997 for left hand drive, or 996 for right
hand drive with a Kennedy engineering adapter plate . These transaxles can handle any horse power you throw at them. To set them up you have
to flip them over pull out the vent with a pair of pliers and use a 1/4 " pipe tap , this will be where you add your gear lube . They work with
Corvette C5 axles and suspension. I hope this helps.

Okay quick question--
I have the feeling that I will want to play around with gearing once I get the car dialed in. Between the brandnew Graziano and a used Porsche 997, which would be easier and/or cheaper to take apart and modify the gear ratios?
I can’t say I have heard much about anything with a Porsche label on it called “cheap”… As far as I am aware, there’s not much interchangeable between Porsche’s gearboxes beyond that of possibly 5th or 6th gears.. I would ask the specialists like CMS or Graziano..

Graziano out performs the Porsche trans in all applications where power and torque capability is necessary ..also in price too
To be honest there is very little need to mess with gear ratios , once the drop gears are installed in the Graz transaxle.

Hey Fran, yeah my thought was to start with a new Grazi as well, simply because of what you guys describe on your page. I dont plan on going over 1000HP and forking over the $$ for brand new sounds a lot better choice for such a crucial component
