New In

Since the car is already street legal in France I would think a change of ownership and getting French plates again should not be a problem?
Good luck with the car - to me the specs seem very good for a GTD !
As far as fuel pumps for carbs go any race parts store should be able to help you (I usually turn to Jansen Competition in Austria or Raceparts, Merlin in the UK). For fuel injection I recommend Kinsler in the US.

Hello Guys,

Does Anyone can provide me with a good workshop adress specialised in this type of car in France please?

I have few things to do and the current workshop where the car is right now is running of time…

Thanks in advance,

Alex

Any workshop specialized in this type of car are company like Ecurie Europe that support race car or Lady Art Car, a professionnal restauration workshop, but they will cost you a bundle. Do not go to Alternative car that displays GT40 on its web site, you would be very desapointed.
I have a friend that has a workshop for rally, or track cars with all the equipments in house to take care of such engines, very professionnal, the only problem is the execution time...
He is located in Jura, ask for Samuel Pezot, 03 84 25 29 84

Let me know if you cannot reach him, I will help

Thank you Jean Marc!

I know Ecurie Europe and Lady Art Car but it cost a lot and it's not difficult job to be done on the car.

Thanks for your friend, but I guess it's the same as the current workshop: running out of time... and also it's a bit "far".

Will see in case!

Thank you JM.

Hi all, I see right now the chain of the sharings. I am french and have a GTD too from 1991. If some supports are still needed please let me know.

Hello Guys,

Few news: the car is starting again and run well :) We change carburator, oil, shock absorberswith adjustable QA1, new exhaust silencers, ...

Next chapter are the brakes and especially brakes caliper. I need to find a refection kit as you will see on pictures it's not on a good shape.

Could you please help me to identify my brake calipers? I know it's billet 6 on the front from HI Spec and Billet 4 on the rear from HI Spec as well.

I already identify pads which are CL Brakes RC6 front and rear. Disk are in a good shape, will not change it now...

Thank you in advance for your help,

Alex

Good morning, Alexander.

I don't have much time to visit this fantastic forum, but yesterday I happened to come in and saw your presentation. I also have a GTD very similar to yours, which I'm slowly improving.
If you need any information about GTD or talk about the car send me a private message.

Merci!

Ben

Hi guys,

I'm happy yo share with you that my GT40 was back on the road last Saturday.

After 6 months (and 5 years in a garage) on American specialized garage to change main parts of the car, it's on the road again. I can confirm as well that registration is under my name, no issue with that as it was already registered in France.

Yesterday was her first car meeting, with of course a lot of questions about it!

Thanks for your help, especially from @Franck40gt and Edouard (not in the forum according to what I know) for the good garage address.

I can help if some have some questions :)

Alex

Excellent, Alex !!

I hope you enjoy it and that we can all see it.
Mine will be getting a bodywork and paint job this autumn, followed by mechanical improvements.
Where do you live in France?

@Alexandre We're a bit far away. I live in Bilbao, about an hour from the Hendaye border.
If you ever come here, let me know. For now, "see you" around here.

Hi Ben.
I was in Bilbao last year with my GT40 during Retro Clasica. Maybe I meet you as I discussed with lots of people next to my GT40..
