oil pressure guage - help required please!

Could anyone offer me some help sourcing some parts for a GTD supplied oil pressure guage sender.

The guage is the capilliary type, & I have an oil leak where the capillary tube enters the block. The tube is a hard plastic 5mm diameter, has a brass olive & screws into an adaptor which in turn screws into the engine block (302).

I'm looking to purchase a new adapter & olive but have no idea where to get one or what to ask for!

Does anyone know who made the guages for GTD or where I might get the parts? (preferably in the UK)

What size thread is the oil pressure tapping on a 302 block??

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Julian, this is a continual problem, and almost impossible to reach when the AC compressor etc is fitted. We put in a fitting to the block to enable a short piece of braided -6 hose to extend to the top of the sill panel, then make the connection where you can see and get at it. Call Fay at Speedflow for parts. Frank

Gentlemen,

Thank you for your help, As you say Frank, the fitting is a right bu**er to get at with the AC compressor fitted, & Jac thank you for identifying the thread size.

I'll give speedflow a ring for the parts.

Best Regds,

Following on, I've now fixed the problem.

I spoke to fay at speedflow & whilst she was extreemeley helpful & could supply a large range of fittings, she was unable to help with any fittings for the 5mm plastic capilliary hose.

Jac Mac, knowing the thread size was a BIG help, Thx for that.

In the end I managed to remove the fitting, clean & inspect it very carefully & refitted it with some thread seal which did the trick, not a drop!

Thank you for your help Gents - problem solved!

Julian ,I hope you took Franks advice & fitted the braided extension from engine block to sill. Apart from making it easier to service it also removes the engine heat factor from the plastic hose fitting which should also help prevent future oil leaks in that area.

Hi Jac,

TBH I re-connected it as per the standard GTD setup, direct to the block.

The braided hose extension sounds like an excellent idea, TBH I wondered about replacing the entire hose (ie all the way to the guage) with braided. Perhaps I'll upgrade it over the winter.

Regds,
