Original Mk1 Wiper Blade.

Thanks for the input, Bart. My shop is a semi conductor parts machine shop. I do the car parts on the side for restoration shops and individuals who can't find replacement parts otherwise. No more than we would use it, the cost of a 3D printer of any kind just wouldn't be cost effective. I used a pair of calipers to get all the measurements from an original wiper assembly and then just programmed them from those measurements.

Paul,

I inquired to the shop you mentioned, Jan 2025, but never heard any follow up from them. Do you still recommend contacting them or could interested parties go to you directly?

I believe there could be a significant market for this particular piece.

Please advise.

Thank You,

John McGrath

Let me talk to Jeff and see what he would like to do. Do you have a wiper assembly at all or do you need the entire assembly?

Hi
How does this clip on to the actual blade please ? Because I can’t see the small L shaped SS pieces underneath the lower plastic pieces . Those L clips hold the assembly onto the pair of strips on top of the rubber
There are 4 clips that attach to the rubber mounted at the 4 pieces at the ends of the rods. I made these are T shaped as they work better for attachemnt.

The plastic pieces are too thin and fragile to 3D print.

Hmmmmm. I question that. If they're the parts in the picture on this post those are very printable in a variety of plastics and a 3D scanner could make a very accurate 3D print file that could be shared.

Paul,

No worries. I have a working arm on my MK 1 but I know its not correct. I will pull the trigger on one of yours.

Thank you,

JM

Jeff is checking on obtaining the arms. If he cannot source enough of them then I will machine new ones. So either way we will get it done.

I compared Jeff’s resurrections reproduction wiper blade with an original at the Audrain concours. His is very accurate.

Those might have been Jeff's wiper blades you saw at the Audrain Concours. He restored the white and medium blue road cars.
(this is to take away from the quality of Jeff's work)

Not to derail this thread into something other than the MKI wiper specifically, but does anyone know what wiper arm and blade the road cars used? It looks different than the MKI and MKII versions—almost looks like off a Ford truck or Bronco from the period.
