Question for Hersh

Herh-

I plan on ordering a GT40 Intro kit, the one that costs around $21K. I have a couple of questions I hope you can help with:

1) In the intro kit, are the suspension pieces already installed? If so, can I get them not installed, as I would prefer to do all the assembly myself.

2) Do the aluminum panels come with this kit? Do they install with silicone and rivets?

3) Can I order the remaining parts as finances come available?

Thanks for your time. I hope to see you again at Knott's

Respectfully yours
Bill D

Hi Bill, Hersh is going to Austrailia as we speak, I have a RF on order , but a deluxe kit. I can answer part of your questions,
Yes the panels are held on with sealent and rivets, some guys tap and use screws instead. I am sure you can get the remaining parts from RF as you need to complete your kit.
I cant wait to start my kit soon when it arrives.
Hershal is a great guy and I am sure he and Robert can help you out, regards, /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gifDan

There are a number of ways to do the paneling in the car. You can have RF make the panels in aluminum, mild steel, of stainless steel. I have aluminum, and they are riveted and bonded with marine adhesive in most places. in addition, I put marine adhesive on each rivet before insertion. They aren't coming off.

Some of mine are fixed with screws because you must be able to remove them later.

If you used other materials you could weld them on if you liked. There are at least three stainless cars I know of running around and that is a nice option too.

Thanks for the detailed replies. I like the idea od SSTL panels on a chassis powdercoated silver. I received an email from someone in Los Angeles who has offered me the opportunity to see his kit, which I plan to do.

Looking forward to seeing Hersh and his car at Knott's again this year.

Regards
Bill

Hersh-

If you would be so kind as to drop me an email or confirm your address... I tried the one on your profile and I'm not convinced you got what I sent you. I too have a few questions from a newbie.

If you're on the road, I hope your travels are going well.

Chris
