"Quieter" Mufflers for a RCR 40?

I'm sure these 2 words usually don't go together in the same sentence , Quiet and GT40. I love a healthy V8 roar, but also want to enjoy driving the car while having conversation! Anyone running reasonably quiet mufflers out there? Thanks

Option#1, Went for a ride in an RCR GT40 with this Borla exhaust and was pleasantly surprised. Without windows mounted on the car (intentionally), I had my head leaning at the edge of the door, to hear the exhaust over the mechanical noises of the engine and roadnoise. Suprisingly relatively quiet, and could live with it on the street.

Option #2, I have always ran Dynomax mufflers on the past several cars. Liked the sound, and preferred Dynomax vs Borla on the same vehicle.

So I am undecided (at the moment) myself, but I am quite certain it will be either Borla or Dynomax.
Unless/until I find someone with the Dynomax muffler, and go for a ride, for the final definitive decision.
Have a Sound meter (I used to host Opentrack events, and needed to play Sound-Police), and will probably run a few sample clips to compare.

Thanks! This is great information. Would you happen to have part numbers for the Borla mufflers?

Make sure to insulate your firewall well. If there's nothing dampening the noise, it will act as an amplifier. It was louder IN mine than behind it before I lined the firewall.

I have the standard RCR cherry bombs and still converse when driving. It also will still stir the soul when prodded as well. Not sure I'd change them for anything quieter, but this is all a very subjective matter.

Thank you for the info, but the dB measurement is the judge, even the ones done with application on your mobile phone will give a good indication. In Europe most of the race tracks require 95dB at 80% of full load (4000 to 5000 rpm). At this time, I do not know how I will make my exhaust to meet the requirement.
Could you make such measurements ?

Chris,
Standard RCR Cherry Bombs? I don't remember them ever mentioning those to me when I ordered/built my 40. I purchased the 'snakes' from them but no mufflers. Got a picture?

Maybe, just maybe, Rod and I can do a muffler comparison, when I finish mine over the winter.
Exhaust sound quality is extremely important to me.

I recently asked Fran about mufflers. He said they don’t sell them.
