RCR GT40 Cinderella in France

On the 2 photos, the first one is with the wheel strait and the second with the wheel turned half the way.
I did a quick adjustment and move forward the upper triangle to the maximum. I will replace all the washers by a cylinder that I will turn. I also adjust the heigth, it seems much better and almost acceptable. I will see on the track.
If it is not sufficient, I will machine new support for the two attachments of the upper arm to give extra capactity to move may be 5mm more.

Dont forget to check the bump steer as this will have changed the height of the steering arm on the hub in relation to the steering rack.

Hello,
I introduce myself, I am 65, retired, I live in east side of France close to Dijon. I am familliar with old Ford, I have sevral models like a 68 F250, a Mustang and a 63 1/2 Galaxie with a 427 65 Tunnel Port that I drive on track days. But since the Le Mans adventure in 65, I was dreaming of a GT40. I finally got one. The car is a RCR MK1 of 2008 initially built by a gentleman Thomas Rider, that was active on this forum I believe. The car was stored unfinish since a long time in UK and I purchased it from a vendor.
I have a lot of cleaning or cosmetic work to do, plus to finish the assembly of glass an a numerous of small things. A lot of bolts or steel parts need to be coated against rust. The car is equiped with a fantastic engine, a DART block 502 strocked to 347 and described in the book Fast Ford & Mustang of 2006. The gear box is a ZF.
I will give you more info after I will forecast all the rework or work that need to done.
The car was never painted, the exhaust is awfull and probably installed to go through the technical check in UK but I will put it quickly to the garbage. The engine is equiped with a Accel injection, that also need to be rationnally reinstalled, but it is a problem for me. I saw that iti is possible to load a free software to program it. The engine is running fine but I am afraid for the future and may be I will reinstall a Holley 750cfm.
For all this reason I call the car "Cinderella", because a lot of miracle will be necessary to transform it in a princess...:)
I already look to several post on this forum and appreciate the quality of the exchanges. I am sure that a lot of information may already answer to my questions, and also that I will ask a lot of questions...

moteur Ford 347 525CV
boite ZF nombreuse pièces d’origine frein train roulant moyeux etc........

Finally I adjusted the front and back suspensions, my parameters are the following (for race track only) :

Back per wheel
- Toe in 0.25°
- Camber -1°
- Caster 6.3°
- Height 114mm
Front per wheel
- Toe in 0.14°
- Camber -1.9°
- Caster ?
- Heigth 107mm
On the front I machined aluminum bushings to replace the stack of washers, because I moved completely forward the top arm
I had also to cut 1/4" of the steering end screw because the Toe adjustment was not possible.
With all those adjustments, the front tire is still passing very close of the back fiber glass archee, I will may be have to cut the portion in front of the tire.
Does one of you has the same experience, what minimum distance do you experience on your RCR car ?

Thank you Paul.
Mark, the licence plate is only for fun. In France, you cannot choose your licence plate, the government did not understand that he could make money with that. Anyway, my car is not road legal and only for race track.
Just for your information on our stupid french laws, to get a licence plate on such a car (except what is required to make it road legal) that is brand new because never licenced, it would cost 80.000€ for Carbon tax one time due to the engine size. A car has to be older than 30 years or alreday licenced in an other country to avoid the amount of taxe. Even a Mustang or a F150 is taxe like that if new. And the result is that the number of new cars licenced like Porsche was divided by 5 compare to 2 years ago when the taxe was "only" 30k€, and the taxe administration is recovering les money than before !!!

``for your consolation:" it's pretty much the same in Austria (+extra price tag if car is from outside current EU). In may case (for a 2015 car in 2022 about 50% of the purchase price - I was close , instead, to invest in a nice trailer and make it a track-only car)

Nowadays, it seems you are far better off getting yourself a private jet - no concerns about CO2 emission etc. and if you do it right no tax on kerosine ....

I am a littel desapointed by the first steps on the dyno. The first number are between 400 and 450hp. The engine is very reactive, balance of the 8 cylinder was done, but after checking the material the engineer found out that the rating of the injectors are too small. They are rated for 32lbs/h. To remind you I bought the car as is, and it confirm that the car was assemble for a street use. For a 6 liters engine to get a larger amount of power, the engineer suggest me to put 40lbs/h injector, what the docummentatation of Accel is confirming. It will be probably necessary also to change the gas pump in parallel.
For information with such Borla 8 stacks for the ones of you that are equiped with, what size of injectors and pump are you using ?
