rear bulkhead window

Any tips on fitting this ,trying to do it on my own using the loop of string technique language became to heated to the extent I had to leave it for the night

I had a professional glass person fit my glass windows. For that one he used a special tool (a small bit of metal) that he sort dragged around the edge - I don't remember exactly. It was a tight fit. Make sure you have enough room for it - I had to trim my aluminium slightly when his first attempt failed.

When fitting the bulkhead glass make sure you use lots of glass cleaner on the rubber as it acts as a lubricant. It makes it a lot easier.

Try it with some help. Have one person firmly push on the glass while you
slowly pull the string. We used 3 people to do the rear window of my
father-in-law's 53 Ford Delivery.

Huw,

Fit the seal to the ali panel and tape in position. Push the glass in sideways so its in the bottom rubber. Work the rubber around the screen with a very, very blunted and polished flat screwdriver till the rubber strip is on the edge of the glass(rubber should be about 90 degrees to the glass and panel), then push the glass back and it should pop in. the appature should be about 4mm larger than the glass the whole way round. use lots of washing up liquid slightly diluted. Ive never had any joy using the string methord as it cuts the rubber.
