The Mirror/Camera is a very reasonably priced Vantop Discovery H610. The mirror is 10" wide, and attaches to your existing mirror. It can function as a stand alone mirror, has front and/or rear view capability along with recording and has lots more features which I've never explored. I've darkened my rear window to reduce glare and just use it as a rear view mirror. I have it wired to come on with the ignition. The image is crystal clear and fully adjustable up, down, right & left.
The Camera housing is a satellite antenna roof mount from a 2008 Nissan Infinity/350Z. I gutted the I/S of the antenna and cut the hole for the camera in the back. I also removed some material from the top & bottom of the camera itself. I made a base mounting plate, epoxied it to the housing, painted it same color as the stripes, and attached it to the roof with double back tape which also serves as a seal. Sadly, this was one of the few things that I didn't document with a picture or two. Admittedly, I thought long & hard about it and wasn't sure I wanted something like this on my roof, but after driving the car both with and without, I'm totally sold on this location! My O/S mirrors are practically useless on this car and I never need to use them now. By the time a passing car (doesn't happen too often), right or left, is out of sight on the mirror, I'm picking it up alongside with my peripheral vision. That amounts to zero blind spots Additionally, I've never had a complaint about how it appears by anyone looking at the car.
