Gents recently fitted my rebuilt un1 gearbox box,by chris cole,filled up.with oil ,left overnight,I've got a leak where the bell housing meets the box at the bottom,so question is ,should there be a gasket between the 2 should it be if fitted with sealant,also are there any seals at the bottom of the box ,o rings etc,.
Has anyone got any links or drawings ,I could use,.

Should be no leaks there! Normal risk of leak is from driveshaft O rings and pin hole for drive shaft adapter. If leak from there instead of bell housing/casing it can i beleive be sorted with appropriate mastic sealant.

Cheers morten malcolm,drive shaft adapters are good and roll pins rtv ed ,this is at front lower bell housing ,wouldn't mind you can see the sealant that has been used

Ah then it sounds like finger trouble in rebuilding the box as you first thought! How annoying.

I phoned up a main Renault dealer parts department and placed an order…..arrived in the post a couple of days later.

But that was a good few years ago now.
