I'm not sure you can call **ALL** of Californias six Largest Companies a "pocket", but I guess you know what you mean:)

You have to compare those 6 to the total to see what the percentage is. If California's GSP is about 1.85 trillion, then

Los Angeles CSA accounts for about 861 Billion
San Francisco CSA accounts for about 487 Billion
San Diego CSA accoutns for about 172 Billion.

You may have some large companies, but the traditional south has you two to one in GDP.

These three "pockets" contain most of California's output. That is what I was referring to.
