Reverse thread CV?

Trying to remove the RH CV/drive axle from my CAV and the nut is just not coming off. The LH side came off with about 400ft/lbs of torque, and that seemed about right. Is it possible the RH side is reverse thread? In which case I just tightened the crap out of it......

Cliff: My Cav #99 has both sides lefty loosie/righty titie; The Daytona is the same; Superformance had a recall on the nuts and sent out a new pair both same threads for each side. The torque spec's on the Daytona is 220 ft lbs so you gotta crank on it. I think yer thinkin about the knock off threads. (on the knock off I always remenber "tight ass" for the direction tighten towards the rear of the car).

Thank you Rich, much appreciated. I'm wondering about the handedness of the CV axle nuts (not the knock offs). Looks like I need to go get an even bigger breaker bar.....

Thanks again.

Just drill a row of 1/8' holes in two opposite flats of the nut, stopping just short of the thread dia, then a couple of clouts with a narrow cold chisel to split the nut, sounds like it needs a new nut anyway.

Thanks Jac, was just about to give exactly that a try - had my drill and cold chisel ready - and decided to give it one more try with "Big Bertha"...my 1,400 ft/lb 1" impact wrench et viola she came off. Yup, the nut was pretty hammered.....pun intended....so I'll be getting a new one of those but at least it's off. What a relief, had to crack a fresh cold beer after that.

Thanks.
