Seeking a GTD build manual

Hi
Sorry if this is in the wrong section but i figured this part of the forum has the most traffic, thus more people could help me.

Anyhow i live in New Zealand and i recently purchased a GTD chassis and body, however as the kit is quite old (about 10-20 years old is what i was told) there was no build manual that came with the purchase. So i was wondering if anybody would be able to e-mail me a build manual or if they could send me a copy (photocopy, cd,...)of a GTD build manual. i'll pay for any postage fees.

Thank you

I live in NZ and can be contacted on 021 908 486 or Hamilton 07 8554135

I have a complete clean GTD manual. If you can't get one to your satifaction then drop me a email and we'll figure out how to send you a photo copy in the mail. I can copy for free but only 1 at a time when the boss is away.

I would also like a copy and would be more than happy to help defray copying costs associated, along with (of course) shipping. Please PM me if you are able to provide a copy. It would be very much appreciated, especially as the dark winter auto-improvement months are now upon us.

Cheers.

Hmm, I'd like a copy at some point, but it can wait. No priority. I have my eye
on a couple of unfinished GTDs that may or may not have the manuals. I'll
send an email and put myself in the queue.

I have a spotless 1990 version glossy print, photographs, templates, torque numbers etc.. There are about 80 doubleside pages and I have no copying facilities. Past experience has shown that many of the photos don't copy well on the everyday copy machine. If there is interest I willl take it to Kinkos and see what they will charge to duplicate.

It certainly seems like there is interest enough to warrant one of you to make a bunch of copies and sell them off to those of us in need. Kinkos (or others) may also be able to scan the entire document to a PDF thus making distribution easier, although perhaps the file will be cumbersome in size. My copy machine (a new Sharp MX series) has this function built-in.

Please keep us posted when a viable option is found. Thanks!

Kinkos wants about $20.00 to copy the 80 page manual. To make a disc they want $1.00 per scan - $80.00. At 80 pages of 8"x12" print you will have a heavy package for shipping long distances. Anyone who wants a print copy from me, just email me and I will get some done. You can pay by check. I will find out the postage cost for the US on Monday.

My copy is the same as Buds. At $20 a copy + shipping why don't you guys just pay bud to do a small run. He's right about the standard copy machine quality. Most of the pictures come out rather dark.

I still can do one or two in a pinch at work, but you all will be happier with a Keko copy.

Considering how often this request has come up over the last year or two, making a few extra copies for the shelf is probably a good idea. Seems that many cars transfer hands without the build manual. Anyway, all who are considering one, please send a PM to Bud, as he will make as many copies as there is demand for, and the cost is very reasonable.

Is there a copyright issue with putting a copy here on the site? I'm sure that as Ray Christopher is still involved with GTD's (although not manufacturing them) he could be contacted and asked if it was OK?
I have a copy at home and would be prepared (if given the go ahead) to scan pages and post them here somehow. I guess if it was approved we could compile a PDF file for distribution to any/all GTD owners?
Just a thought.

Simon

Here is what I have come up with. Kinko copies spiral bound with clear cover, US $25.00 plus postage to your location. Estimated postage: Australia/NZ-$20.00; Europe $16.00; Canada $13.00; Lower 48 $8.00. If you want the CD that prints in PDF BMP format you can get it with the manual for an additional $5.00. The CD's are not available without the manual. If you pay me by check no charge, if you use paypal add $1.50 to cover charges to me for collection. Dennis, Earl, Ross, Mark and emiel you have a manual that will be ready for mailing on Dec.15 so let me know if you want them bound and if you want the CD. Anyone else?? This is what it cost me. This is not a money making enterprise

Bud, I've sent PayPal for the bound manual, CD and shipping to me in the great white North. Thanks for offering to do this for us, especially at this busy time of year! I am really looking forward to receiving it!

Glad to help. A word of warning however, the templates for the headlight cutouts in the manual are incorrect. My CD has this corrcted. I have also included the sequence I used when I was building. It is slightly different from the manual, plus I included a sketch for a rear facia cover to hide some of the rear frame work. Yours will go out on Friday.
