Still not hearing what I want to hear!

I have been around deciding between a few cars. I am not willing to give my money to then receive a car with most of the parts to finish the project missing and having to chase down the manufacturer. I will not be building it myself but having my builder do it for me. I do not want to have the car sitting at his shop for months on end while he is billing me waiting on parts from you. My suggestion is get all the parts for the cars then send the cars. You did take the money$$

I was only able to find one company (Breathless Performance) that has a working car but not completed 100%. I love there video by the way and do congratulate them for getting the car running.

All the others are no where near done missing many parts.

Tell me if anyone has headlights, wipers, ac units, working side windows that seal, door seals to keep the water out, door hinges and a few more.

Fran get on the ball and get your stuff done, stop taking customers money and not delivering all the parts paid for.

I have also seen some post of you not returning call or e-mails, that is completely unprofessional especially if they have paid you for a car. Stop hiding and answer the questions. I am glad I did not give you my money for you to take it and run for a year " Please be honest hear did you take the monies and invest vin the market or oil futures" or two while I try to chase you down for answers. I do not play those games, if I pay you I want it delivered on time with all the parts, otherwise don't sell the cars yet or just take a deposit or are you really strapped for cash to not be able to finish. Do you need some private financing or maybe a more motivated partner to join you.

Guess it is buyer beware.. RCR does not deliver the cars with all the parts.

Gees for a newbie you have got a bit of cheek.
I have nothing to do with Fran or his product, never met him and have only occasionally conversed via this forum, but I must say that since 2003-2004 when Fran started RCR and began expanding his operations that I don't recall any of his customers having a dig like you are. Fran certainly doesn't need anyone speaking for him, so I won't - these are my words!
Pull your head in buddy, if you haven't fronted any money then don't stir the pot. If you have info from reliable sources to back your claims, reveal them otherwise put your money in your mouth and shut it.

Try going somewhere else.
Otherwise , as Bill says, Shut it. Most of us who know
Fran know you are so wide of the mark.

Sounds like a bit of an attention seeker- claims to be a 'notory public', I assume the only difference between that and a 'notary public' is the ability to spell correctly, probably a requirement when drawing up contracts etc, otherwise they wouldnt be worth the paper they are written on. Going by Frans last comment his money is not going to be at risk anyway, or maybe without RCR on the shopping list it might be more at risk with some of the others.

That settles it. If Fran gets this much attention from the opposition then my next car will definitely be RCR. ;)

Tim.

I by rule stay clear of threads that have no value but have now been forced to respond to this one. We give life to people like this because we respond, if we ignore them they go away. We all know that his comments are without merit because he has no skin in the game and no history to base his comments on. Fran has taken the best road any seller of a product can and that is to NOT sell to someone. If he is unhappy and not spent a dime, what would he be like after spending his money? Now the rest of us should follow his lead and divorce this person.

I dont know just how competitive the car building bussiness is but is there any chance another company would have covert ops to discredit a competitor?

As a different point of view, I could be looked at as a person that this 'speed freak' is referring to (someone who ordered a car eaarly in the process). Note that I have not had any contact with "Speedfreak" and generally disagree with his approach and commentary.
The Cliff's notes version goes like this:

I ordered a SL-R kit very early (March).
I visited the shop in mid April and saw the frame done and they dropped the motor in while I was there to show me the fit.
Fran had the car ready for delivery in June.
Shipper has problems getting the car to me prior to me leaving for vacation.
I realize that I have read into the SL-R kit hopes that were never really promised (as far as what work I would need to do).
I freak out a little and post a nasty comment.
Fran immediately responds and is very understanding.
We work out the details on the phone, and at the end of the day, Fran has made me whole.
While I wish I had the mechanical skills to put together one of these kits, I recognize that I do not.
Fran could rightly have been pissed at me for backing out of the order.
He did not, and is not (as far as I know).
I am still a big fan of these cars, and look forward to seeing many of them operating successfully on the street / track.

Proir to ordering I read a little bit about the car and projected my hope that the car was basically a turn-key minus car. I did not understand the difference between a roller kit and a turn key minus car at the time. This is really my own fault for not asking questions / researching it more. I am sure now that if I had asked Fran prior to ordering the car I would have understood more about what was required.

It basically sounds to me like you do not have the tolerance for any unforeseen items, so it is best for you to stay away from a new car design until it has a good track record. Unfortunately for you it appears that you are intent on pissing off one of the guys you say you may buy from. I don't think that is a good move. If I was Fran I would not sell a car to you (knowingly), it seems like you are waiting for a problem to harp about. My guess is that your approach will force you to the Ultima (which is a good car also), but will also cost you many extra $$$ in the long run.

So there you have it. I am a cancelled customer that feels really good about the way Fran handled my personal situation. Take that for what it is worth.

Fran, I sure hope you see this post as a positive one, that is my intent. I still feel pretty bad about backing out of the car project. In some respects I feel like I have let you down.

Best,
BT

Thanks Bill...no hard feelings from RCR at all....

To everyone else that has shown support for us ...many of you dont have any intention of owning an RCR product...thank you.

We certainly try to be as transparent as possible and with the increase in sales and manufacture we have had over the last year , I have to pass off some daily duties to other RCR team members...they are all top class people and work hard to keep things rolling along...

We have an open door policy and anyone can walk in and see whats going on....even my friend Speedfreak could fly in from Florida..not California as he shows in his avatar...and see whats in progress..

Ron, why don't you block people like this that provide nothing but trouble? This guy has proved beyond any reasonable doubt that he is a trouble maker with some hidden agenda. Get a life Speed Freak and learn how to spell and punctuate!

By training I am a professional engineer and after v thorough evaluation chose an RCR 40 replica and am now well into the build. There were a few parts (4) not shipped but nothing to hold up the build and one of the shortages was due to non availability from Fran’s supplier (Tilton master cylinders for the 9000 series pedal box so highly specialised and not normally held in stock) I have been totally delighted with the product and still feel that the engineering is in a different league to any other 40 replica. When the kit was shipped Fran even included a fire extinguisher FOC which I thought was a nice touch. And by the way I had also requested a number of special requirements like the plumbing in of a dry sump system, all completed. This is my first build and Fran (or his people) have put up with some pretty basic questions politely and with understanding.

Fran keep taking the tablets old son and let the products and sales speak for themselves………….

Hey John, where's your build thread?! I want to check out the progress of your car.

I'm not going to grace this thread with a reply to the starter of it. Instead I will jack it into a completely different direction...

Who all has committed the ultimate blasphamy and put LSX's in their GT40s? And damn Fran for supporting such a thing!! Shaaaaame on you Fran!!

'Ello

Happily this is way off thread.

I asked Fran who makes the best yankee small block of all time................here's a clue to the answer, "Fran how does the (very expensive crate motor Ford alloy block with EFI from a major racing supplier..... nameless 'cause I can't afford the legal costs) compare with the LS7?" ............ :yuck:.

Well you've got to have a laugh otherwise otherwise the meaning of life is 42 (apparently) :laugh4:

Build thread is on the forum, a bit out of date but will post soon

Best

Hahahaha!!!

Now, being a performance guy, I can honestly agree with you. Plus you get to put the Ricardo box in there too. Great drivetrain!! And, if you come across anyone who doesn't know the difference, you can pass it off as a prototype pushrod race motor designed by Ford back in the early 90's. ;) No distributor to give away it's GM herritige. LOL I remember when I was first learning about cars, that's how I could spot what engine it was. Then I started noticing the width of the intake manifolds on the 302's & 351's that people were swapping in their Mustangs at the street race scene. Aaahhh, memories...

Anyway, update your build thread!!

Laters,

Brian

Brian

Sorry to disappoint so soon but I'm fitting a Quaife ZF-Q transaxle. I just struggle with the Ricardo appearance (mostly because it just looks too big) in a 40 replica. I have no doubt that the Ricardo is probably the stronger of the two and if I was building an RCR SL-C then that's what I'd go for. The ZF-Q is good for over 600bhp and 550+ lbs.ft and is dimensionally much smaller (about the same as an original ZF): best of all I pick it up next week :pepper:

Brian there is no debate, there is ONLY the SL-C...........

There is a good thread on the ZF-Q in the manufacturers’ announcements elsewhere on the forum.

Best

John
