The ATO ( Australian Tax Offtice) sent my wife note showing a graph of how her tax $$ is being spent. I wish they hadn't. Over 36% of the total goes to welfare

'Just curious: Do over half of all Austrailans pay no fed income tax as is the case here in the U.S.? Or, are you folks not quite there >yet<?

We are close Larry, with only 55% paying income tax. Thatcher was indeed right.

We pay an enormous amout of taxes for welfare too. Some of it is domestic handouts, but much of it is international welfare, otherwise known as 'defense spending'....
