The curse of ethanol UK - Part trois

We still live with the curse of ethanol in our fuel. The effect on rubber and aluminium components is now well known. In my previous thread The curse of ethanol Part deux i explained how this can be removed from fuel. However it would be good if we could buy fuel without ethanol. There are some videos on Youtube from some heroes who have tested various brands for ethanol content (particularly "The Fuel Reviewer")
I have collated some of this information and this should help owners in the UK to find some decent uncontaminated fuel and save themselves some grief. As you can see there is ethanol free fuel available if you know where to look - and more particularly where to avoid!.
As the amount of ethanol added changes over time the best thing to do is to test the fuel yourself. This is easy to do and the how can can be found in the fuel reviewer videos. All you need is a measuring cylinder and some coloured water. ( I use blue food colouring - tiny amount goes a long way!)
Sorry this is info for the UK only as I don't have the info from other countries.
Cheers
Mike

Ethanol content also depends on which refinerery the fuel was sourced from. Here in the NW it's Stanlow and they add ethanol so that Esso Supreme, for example, is not 0% in this area.

So while you out of the EU (Brexit) the UK fuel stil is according EU regulations..

Thanks to a UK company (Frost) there's a cure for it.
Ethomix Ethanol Corrosion Inhibitor Additive 250ml (frost.co.uk)

I just ordered (again) three full boxes shipped to the Netherlands of this stuff. Use it for about a decade now never had any issues again with E5 & E10
I have used this in one form or another in my pre-war car for 22 years. The car does not do many miles per year and no idea if it works but it makes me feel less anxious. Interesting photo they are now using on their website, obviously proves I made the right choice ;) TetraBOOST
