Things you don't count on in the garage

Skinny Man
I'm making headers for the Mirage. So last night I'm cutting off a length of tubing, the tubing drops off to the floor in a never before seen PERFECT vertical, time delayed death-fall (no, it couldn’t rotate or spin even a single degree), and expertly centered onto the power cord for my Makita side grinder. Immediately severs the cord and copper, and trips the breaker. Now I’ve got to spend time to fix the grinder….UGG.

I got that exact same feeling when an idiot pulled in front of me. It was in slow mode as my motorbike smashed into the side of his car and I cart wheeled through the air and slammed onto the tarmac. He got a $300 fine and six month suspension of his license (which he had held for 8 days). I got broken bones, smashed bike and...Well it’s not worth bleating...the point is why does it go to a virtual slow mode when something bad is about to happen?
Oh forgot to mention, it is also part of the reason I decided to build a 40. It has roll bars!

Cheers, Gus.

Hhhhhmmmm....I know the feeling Terry. Kinda like when I took a nut off the head off an old weed whacker and dropped it....landed on the floor, bounced once and went right into the inlet port of my BMW R50/2 motorbike (bing carb removed for rebuilding). Time slowed down and could see it all happening in slow motion.....a perfect arc off the floor dead perfect shot into the inlet....swish!
