Tiptronic box???

Would I be correct in thinking that this porsche box (appears to be made by ZF) would be no good in a 40?

I believe the tiptronic is a bit like an auto box, but with a gearlever that you can 'override' the auto changes.

I guess you could also call it a 'clutchless' manual box. Either ways my personal view is that it would be very unusual in a 40.

I'm told that 911 (types) can be very scary if the box decides to change gear mid corner!

Perhaps the G50/60 would be a better option.

 

If it is anything like a Honda tiptronic, it is basically just an auto box that you can manually activate the shift solenoids (when you bang the shift lever) My only concern would be how to flip it and still make all the hydraulics work.

I looked a bit at this box and from what I understand it is internally like an automatic trans, not like a paddle shifted (Ferrari) type manual.
