Tires for 15”x14” rim??

Hi Guys, I’m trying to find some tires for my rear 15”x14” rears. Struggling with anything over 295 recommended for a 10.5”.

Any suggestions? TIA

Pirelli makes them in 345/35-15 and Michelin makes the TB5 and TB15 in simillar sizes. Or you can have AVON slicks cut with a tread pattern .

For road legal tyres (UK only) you're stuck with Avon 295/50x15's.
They'll just about stretch to a 12" wide rim but never a 14" wide.

The Countach 345/35 size probably will fit the 14" wide but you get a diameter reduction of about 50mm which may cause a few issues.

Other option would be to use Dunlop CR82 530/1500-15 tyres [ NOT ROAD LEGAL ] which lose a bit of diameter but meet the width criteria or the CR82 530/1360-15 tyres [NOT ROAD LEGAL ] which need a slight stretch to fit and also lose a bit of diameter.

What’s the main issue with NON ROAD LEGAL tyres being used on the road other than the obvious illegality of it? What are the shortcomings of a race tyre (non road legal) compared to a Road legal tyre? Is it only puncture protection?

To prevent heat buildup race tire construction is lighter and their tread is thinner. Their sidewalls will not survive being scraped on a curb, either. Tread life will be pretty short as well.

I have 15" * 14" Rears also; I have somewhat reluctantly accepted that I will fit Mickey Thompson Sportsman 29*18.00R15
A very high profile tire ... but I am not aware of any other tire except maybe (Hoosier) that do a DOT approved radial for 15" diameter and 14" wide

If you have crash ... your Insurance Company will walk away from you if you run non-DOT Tires ... could cost allot $'s

First you need to understand the difference between "DOT Legal" and "DOT Approved", the latter is often still marked "Not for Highway use" e.g. a Hoosier R6 tire is "DOT Approved" and not for highway use.

M&H makes a 390 45/15 drag radial that is dot certified......... (it is a little taller like 33, I run it on my RCR GT40)

I’m trying to find pics of anyone running something like a Nitto NT555RII 325/50/15 on a 15x12 if anyone has ever run that tyre size on a GT40. Is a road legal drag radial though so could be interesting with UK weather. I didn’t want to run the 295’s on a 12in rear let alone a 14inch!

UK stockists are interesting to find though.
Have a contact who’s sponsored by Nitto so if my mate can’t get hold of them I’ll have to reach out to them to see if they can help.

Avon 12.5/27.0-15 treaded on 15"x 14" rims on my Pantera Gr4 style. Works on the street, but race tires throw a lot of stones up into the wheelwells. Also, thin sidewalls lose air pressure quicker than street tires.
