Transaxle problems - your experience

There are a lot of messages on transaxles- and a lot of opinions too. I guess that your choice is a combination of budget, availability and how it can be fitted to your chassis/engine.
I would be interested about your operating experiences. For example, how many miles/km have you actually driven, how did you operate your car (on the road/track), what engine/power/torque/transaxle combination do you have and what problems/failures did you encounter?

The wildest setup I heard about was a guy named Wilson Jr who ran a Pantera with a Boss 429 in the Silver State race in Nevada and at Bonneville.

The main problem he had was getting airborne above 200mph.
