UK Number Plates

Can anyone advise what the situation is reagrding use of stick on front number plates and whether thay can still be purchased from a typical auto factor? Suddenly realised that even though I now have the car road legal in all other respects, I need a front plate!

stick on plates

hi malc
we still sell the stick on number plates both front and rear not sure on the legal side i know we do not have to ask for any documentation as we do when we make a normal plate up backings are still the reflective style

Malc, we can make open frame number plates as on many of our cars, see pics of JTR AND AJB, Frank

Got my stick on plate ok. Bit like a packet of cigarettes....has a warning on it! Ah, it'll happen to someone else, isn't that what smokers say?

I followed Charles' links. If a stick on is illegal, sorry Frank, but no way one of your open frame plates is going to be legal either. Hey ho!

Anyone been pulled for a plate infringement?
