I just use Valvoline 80W-90 non LSD gear oil. Readily available, cheap, and since the 016 isn't a performance box by any stretch, seems appropriate. Regards, Bill
I've been using Redline in my various LSD boxes over the last 10 years in several different cars. There's different versions of the Redline stuff for LSD v. open diff v. torque biasing differentials.
It's good stuff I think...but it may not be the easiest shifting gear oil out there. It's also somewhat expensive. You would probably be just as good with Valvoline as Bill suggested, or any of the well known gear oil makes. If you happen to have an LSD in your 016 then you want to be sure to use gear oil engineered for that obviously.
