Well, if true, and I hope not because there's always a customer that is left bereft of cash and car in these circumstances, it shows that asking pertinent questions regarding the health of a company is exactly the right thing to do, and if you are a prospective purchaser then it is ALL of your business...

These things are a lot of money.

Not only that, beware any company asking a large intitial payment - often the sign to an under capitalized business. Having said that, as I previously remarked, I just hope it isn't true...

If they are indeed DOA, I'd be sorry to see that. their product looked like it had great potential.

I ended up buying a SPF because I was a little uneasy of making the purchase from GOX.

I have the owners? email, and will try to contact him about the status of his company.

i was there,...20 days ago,....and goran is still working, what i see was unbeliveable,...a machineshop you need if you build a spaceship,..parts all around,...originales,...a man with a great power into him, with manpower i never think to find, with knowledge about material, making of, cnc, casting, welding pressing,.........a casting-shop, a spotwelding-shop,....
but i also see much much work to do,..it was great to meet him

I dont think Goran is in a bad situation.
From what I know he works nearly alone with a very little staff, and the request for his 2 models is always very high (incredibly good price, stunning quality and swedish handmade. It places a bit over also the german best hand production imho...and nearly to the real italian one :D).
I have some work and life problems down here (reson cause I am a little away from this forum I love), but my wife has nearly taken an house very near to Stromstad and so, I know I will take a visit to Goran, with some italian Grappa to have a talk.

Also I knew he felt a little attacked by this forum, surely there are too many "interest" in the production of the replicas,so he probably just prefer be offline and wait people visit him, see the goods and maybe take one, also cause I think there is already a great request inside Sweden for his cars (and swedish are real car nuts)
It is an old way to sell, for many many special items as a gt40 is it is the best way to do.

Go on Goran,go on ;) and good luck!!
If u Goran need a "devoted" worker, just email me and I will run (said the same to Fran, but sweden is nearer and cheaper to reach from here).

Dear Paolo,

Your statements on GOX quality are in contrast with previous facts from SFRO and purchasers of kits from Göran. Please provide information on quality and price that supports your claims?

I can tell You Paolo that every part I have from GOX keep a very high grade of quality , so I'm satisfied with the parts I have for my car, only the body has some lack of straigthness. But it just need some work with the plastic before I hope to have a good fit.

Interesting Bune. So "every part" also includes the defective alu-uprights not approved by SFRO?

For sake of fairness you should also state that you are not an independent customer to GOX but an affiliate with vested interest in the company.

Guys,

Before this thread, or the other one, goes any further can someone definitively answer the charge that GOX is out of business? This was eluded to on a different thread but wasn't ever verified or commented on by those that are close to the company.

Hey guys, I am also keen to hear what has happened to GOX. In 2006, when living in NZ, I ordered a car and placed a fair size deposit with Goran . There was a slight delay before my chassis was started, but once he had begun I ended up with a major change of plans (had to return to China to work). I asked Goran if it was possible to cancel my order, Goran was friendly, understanding and immediately returned my deposit and promised that if and when I re-placed my order I will be able get in somewhere near the front of the que.

I found Goran to be an extremely stand-up bloke and I hope all is well as a GT40 is still on my horizon.....

Cheers, Neil

it looks, someone has a problem here with gox, so i must write some words,.....
i was there, 1 month ago, i was there for only one day, but what i can see, what i can speek with goran, was a new dimension for me, i see all the machinery, all the tools, all parts, and i realice that i am a happy men, allowed to see all this work and get verry good explanationes about
i dont know what problems are out here, i dont know the troubles, someone has with gox or has not,.....
i see a small manufakture with so much emotion into, with so much idealism into, with so much knowledge about technik, work and for the gt-40,......it looks like a place, 35 years ago, where the gt-40 was born, the only different, only a few people work at this company, all high-specialist in what they are doing, with a lot of interest on 100% and into quality,.....with to much work on to small place,.....and yes, could be that some parts from all this 1000s, ar not without fails,.....like in my mitsubishi and in my iveco-transporter,...but where is a problem??,...i had a mass problems with new motocycles also,.....problems could be changed to good-parts,....and tests like the SFRO are good, good to fix this problems, to see and locate fails, and to change it to a better part, and what i see, what i speek was, all missparts will be changed,..??,..where is the problem??
and i am independet, because i am not a customer in moment, not a friend of this company, i only was in interest for the work of goran, bune and the whole gox-company and all i see the last years, in front of my travel to sweden, makes me interest on this product, let me dream a lot about a 100% car like this gt´s,....
and after this meeting i know one more company, what is able to do a perfekt work, and this is not a kit-car-company, this is a productions-company, could build every car to a real high standart,.....
kind regards
ernst

Goran is a step forward.
And he is is also from Bohuslan :)... suspect the company dont care so much about the virtual bla bla, but of the REAL facts (as valentino rossi says in italian: "fatti, non pugnette!")

Engineers never make good salesmen or PR men come to think of it.. ? Paulo, if someone representing the company had spoken up a long time ago, instead of telling prospective customers to "mind their own business" you would not be having to defend GOX now, would you? Statements such as "If you have to ask you can't afford it" do not also endear people to a company either. It's a question of business philosophy, and because Goran has represented himself as being above normal communications, speculation is bound to be rife especially where money is concerned. Paulo, do you remember when Goran came on to this very forum daily and described (with very good pictures) exactly what he was doing? If he had come on this forum again just once and said "the rumours are all rubbish" it would have solved the problem, and with the talk of the mysterious conglomerate of people involved with the project, well, it comes across as being arrogant. That all being said, I always had a lot of time for Goran's engineering skills, but he has shot himself in the (mono)cocque so to speak by allowing this situation to develop. I for one am happy to hear that his business continues. Any further speculation should be taken to private communications IMO because it's become boring and tedious.

My appologies for possibly opening an aging can of worms, but... I am interested in a monocoque chassis GT 40, as close to original specs as can be. Current status on GOX or other alternatives would be much appreciated. If any members know of current owners building or with the finished product, particularly in the US, please ask if I may contact them for guidance. Thank you.

Does anyone ever see these Gelscoe cars come up for sale? Are they priced in the upper stratosphere with Holman Moody cars?

Yes, expensive a la H&M but I am not too sure that they have made that many. A big part of their business appears to be fixing original cars too.

I've heard it said (not verified by me though) that some of the complete cars they have built are identical in every way to specific originals so that the owners can go and race them hard without damaging their investment. (it is alleged) Which is probably why you never see them openly for sale..

Sounds reasonable if you have the money....

But probably no-one is going to confirm or deny that. There is no doubt that they are drop dead spot on clones of originals though.
