Wheels and Tires

Parting with the wheels and tires that came on my car. Have decided to go with a larger set. The rears are 15x10 with P295x50R15 and the fronts are 15x9 with p225x60R15 if I have measured correctly(hard to do with the tires on). B F Goodrich Radial TA's. Bolt pattern is 5x4.75(Corvette). They are about 3 years old by my guestimate. Have been off the car for about a year to a year and a half. Car has been on a stand. Stored in the basement inside my house. No widows and airconditioned. Tires have never been on the road.

After looking at the wheels, the only markings on the rears was CW 15 X 10 JJ T 2 95 MADE IN U S A. The other rear had same marking with different date of manufacturer 9 96. One of the fronts had the markings 115 (UNINTELIGABLE) PRIME SL 07 16 97. The other front had a scrape which probably is where its markings were. The diameters are 25 1/2 on the fronts and 26 1/2 on the rears.

So these 15 " wheels cleared the Vette calipers ?
295's sound wide for stock wheel opening (non Gulf).
How close were they to the rear clam lip ?

The 295's had about a half inch clearance, but you have to remember that the position of the wheels can be just about anywhere, with rod adjustments that are on the A arms. You could also order wheels with a different ofset as well. There is room for mine to go inward at least another half inch. The vette calipers will not clear the 15 inch wheels. That is why I am going to a larger size. My car came with the 87 corvette hubs, which used 11.5" rotors and 16 inch wheels. You need more than 50 mm. of clearance for most calipers to work. These come in right at 50 mm. which means they won't work. Mine also has the flares.
