Where to mount the remote solenoid?

Any suggestions?
I've always liked cars that placed the starter solenoid on the firewall, so you can manually press the rubber button on the solenoid and watch the engine if you're trying to find TDC.

A neat trick is if you are running one of the mini-gear reduction starters (not the older ford type) They already have the solenoid on the starter but it is just set up to trigger when you get juice to the main terminal (the battery one). They usually have a jumper from the solenoid lead to that battery lug. All you need to do is remove it and use that as your starter solenoid. One less part to worry about clutering up your engine bay. One less part to break. Not sure how the starter works on the ZF trans (if a bendix style or mini style)
