Which G50 have I got?

Hi All

Before you ask yes I have searched the forum and found various bits of info however, on my G50 the s/N is

G5006 1 K 035539

Now I can figure its a 88-89 as it has the 12 digit code
The 1 in the middle of numbers means a normal diff
The K in the middle of the numbers means its a 1989

The thing I dont get is the 6 in G5006 to figure exactly what type it is??
jumps from 05 to 10 on all the lists I have found??

Please help am I just reading it wrong. Its definatly a 6 as I thought maybe it was a 5 with a scratch!

Someone else was asking the same basic question as you and had this image;

One fellow says

The G50/06 isn't in the latest PET any longer, but my spec book shows this as one of the '92 C2 transmissions.

Yet others seemed to thing it might have been a Competition Transmission, or a mistake in the stamping at the factory since they were hand stamped.

I would have believed more the later until more than one example has apparently surfaced..
