Wilwood's for GT40

I have Two extra Wilwood Superlight 2A's four pot calipers for sale.

They are Wilwood part Number AR-120-3193, Both R and L.

These calipers have four 1 3/8 diameter pistons and will fit a 1 1/4 inch thick caliper. I currently have these same calipers on the rear of my GTD. They are the cast body type. This particular caliper is currently out of production and has been replaced with the Forged Superlight. They a nearly the same thing and are interchangeable.

The reason they are for sale is I originally had put the 1 3/8 piston caliper's all the way around front and back. The brake balance ended up too much to the rear so I took them off the front and replaced them with 1 3/4 " piston Superlights on the front. The balance is near perfect now. They would best be used on the rear of a GT40 and will bolt to the rear stock GTD upright if you use 11 3/4 X 1 1/4 inch rotors. There are two GTDs out here in California with these calipers on the rear.

Price is $125 for both. This is what I paid for one and the current replacement forged Superlights are $140 each.

They are clean and full of brake fluid with NO rust. They are sealed up in plastic bags to keep the air and moisture out of them.

I will ship them to you in original boxes if you pay the UPS.

Hi Howard,

Quick question for you: you indicate the calipers "have four 1 3/8 diameter pistons" yet I don't see any actual pistons in the pictures (perhaps my eyes going???). Is it possible you mean the calipers have 1 3/8 bores and pistons are not included?

Thanks for any clarification.

I think your eyes are telling tales Cliff, look again as the lower picture as it shows the pistons slightly out of the bores. In the top picture, you are looking into the pistons (nice and clean) and there is a small line about 3-4mm around each hole that indicate the wall of the piston. So I would say yes - they definately include the pistons...

These calipers are complete in every way and work as new. They are not damaged, worn, or in need of any repair. I have installed the bridge bolt kit on them and they are included at no additional cost. They have 1 3/8 diameter pistons.

They will work well on the REAR of a GT40 if you use the current Forged Superlight with 1 3/4 diameter pistons on the front.

I have this setup on my GTD with the original GTD vacuum boosters and master cylinder. I just did about 200 track miles last weekend and am very happy with the brake effectiveness and ballance. I used a Wilwood proportioning valve in the rears but after getting the car just right it turns out that only 2 turns of the knob is required to get it ballanced front to rear.

The car has 12.19 X 1.25 HD curved vane vented Wilwood rotors on it all the way around.

I am happy enough with this setup that I do not plan any changes from here on out.

Cliff -

The pistons are open end out, ie, a cup where the open end hits the back of the pad. Got me too when I installed some SL6's on my mustang.

BTW I also have a set that were on a car but never used, Not sure of the piston size but they are Forged SL's I think like Howards. I'll find out what they are incase someone is looking for another 2.
