Window Side Vents

Can someone post a picture of how the window side vents are mounted. Mine will only open and close with a lot of force and flexing on the brackets. If I turn the window mounted bracked 180 degrees, the arm moves OK but the window will not stay open.

Chet - Maybe you can snap a couple of pictures and post them up here... In particular, I think some good close-ups if the hinges would help.

I suspect that the hinges may not be oriented properly.. Since the window is curved slightly, there should be a bias on the hinge pins so that both hinges are precisely across from each other and that they are in the same plane..

Here are some pictures of mine. If i rotate the vent mounted portion 180 degrees, the window works fine except it will not latch open.

Chet,
Looking at your picture and comparing it to my SPF I see one difference. In your pictures on the right side the piece fastened to the rear of the main window (has vertical hole that arm rotates thru) is reversed. Looking from above the front edge of this piece should be more like a 90 degree, not the sharper angled side you show. Also the vertical hole should be threaded at the top, not at the bottom. This would also explain why it doesn't stay open. Trying flipping this piece over, but make sure the tightening post inserts from the bottom. If you still don't understand this I'll try posting a photo.

Dave,
I think the driver/passenger side brackets are reversed? What does the tightening post bind/clamp to hold the window open? Maybe you can post a picture of your passenger vent window?
