Wings and Wheels 29th August

Hi Chris,
Thanks for your comments. Yes, I phoned Brooklands yesterday and they said pretty much the same as you.
They did say that I had to go to the driver's briefing at 0930, so I'll plan to arrive for that. Even so, it means leaving here at some ungodly hour!

Seen over the weekend at Wings & Wheels!
Quite a selection of power!

I saw about 125 / 130 but air pressure under half depth nostril was causing it to bulge excessively - didn't want anything to break so held it about that speed

Not normally a problem on my car but perhaps the strong headwind combined with speed caused it

Next mod deep nostril pannel

This was my second year at this event, what a great time we had. Such a relaxed event and lots of interesting cars and aircraft. Not sure that holding it over 2 days is a good thing though, as there wasn't as many cars in the paddocks on Monday.

As for top speed, I saw 140ish on the speedo on my last run, much the same as last year. I didn't think to bring the sat nav to get an accurate reading.............

It was a really good event and I'll certainly be booking for next year.

Anyone willing to post claimed top speeds?

160 mph indicated. The speedo (electronic) was very accurate at SVA so probably 150+. Many thanks to Frank (Catt) and Geoff (and Louie) for completely re-hashing the fuel system lines and pumps and tweeking the fuel injection map, which has transformed the power output to something much closer to the 442 bhp at the flywheel achieved on the dyno with a Holly carb. Still have gear selection problems however, otherwise would have been faster. So that is the next job!
