Re: New Ford GT at Brisbane a friend of mine suggested the GT is "all go and no show", which i thought was amusing. it's a car that looks much better in pictures than in person, imo. i haven't had the good fortune to drive one yet, but i was able to spend about half an hour with one - looking...

what's the win to kill the new GT forum? if it has no traffic, then it can't be consuming resources. since fomoco is planning to produce a whole ton of these things, the traffic will eventually pick up. very very few cars are in the hands of customers - the vast majority are all still on dealer...

i'm guessing they have to get at least 500 into the hands of owners before stuff really calms down. maybe even as many as 1,000 if they're lucky. saturation occurs somewhere in the 1,xxx space and they're buildling 3,500 or so total (nearly all for the US). early production is clearly going...

so about 8.4% margin by my maths. that's more than they make on most (if not all) of the cars the dealership sells. i was under the impression via rumors that they were getting screwed by FoMoCo on these things - that's clearly not the case, which makes the auction/price-gouging all the more...

the numbers i'm backing out from the presentation are 175 produced per month for 20.5 months = 3,600 cars. doody.

something is \"off\" i think something is awry in the production process. let's say they intend to build 1200 cars per year - that's 100 per month. if they've been delivering cars for two months now (first delivery was early august) that's 200 cars that should be delivered by now. for...
