Personally, I seem to do more school runs and trips to the plumbing store than pit stops at LeMans so I guess I can stick with the dinky 1" line I have!

Not being a total expert on these matters, I would hesitate to add that all 1966 Le Mans GT40s, whether they were MkIs or MkIIs, had a single filler cross over system. I believe the pipe was either in front of the seats or under them, which meant serious adjustment to that part of the monocoque. I only know this because my MkI, the bodywork off which did Le Mans that year had the single filler on the right hand side. I believe this was a ruling at the time. I guess because the pit crews would be stationed on the right of the car, not on the left, which would result in them having to refuel next to the open track.. no concrete pits wall in those days. Surely not health & safety in 1966???.. Andrew

Boy am I glad SPF didn't go 100% acurate on my MK11 with rubber bladders and 4" crossover tube under my legs and all the metal to bladder connections ect.

What a nightmare!

Guess was OK for a FACTORY race car to tear down/inspect/repair between races but, sure not right thing for a road car.

Wonder how the small race teams after FORD were able to keep up with the needed maintenance and costs?

They didn't! A lot of cars have had leaky bags and fittings. What, you don't want to sit in pool of fuel? Whadda wanna live forever?
