JP,

all above cars are Superformance (I think) which come with "working parrots"

However, there was a thread here about retrofitting on other 40's.......

How is it best to jack up these cars.

A floor jack on the rear crossmemeber?
How to do the front?
Esteemed GT40’ers,

I’m digging up old questions. I don’t think I see my question covered elsewhere on the forum.

I have a 2 post lift. It seems I may not be able to use it to lift my SPF GT40..?

A local trusted mechanic (not a GT40 expert) tells me to use the “tub corners” as lift points. That feels a wee bit too vague for my confidence.

I’ll be grateful for any pointers or thoughts.

Colin

You should never lift the tub in the middle using a 2 post lift. The tub jack points are at the front and rear corners on the outer edges. Block with wood and a rag. You can also jack the car using the sub-frames with a lift bar in the quick jacks.

I always try to get to strongest areas which are usual the reinforced spots.

Front: rear pic up point for lower control arm

Rear: Horse shoe would be the best but with a 2 post lift sometimes hard to get to

Alternativ: below engine mount - don't have better pic :(

Always make sure to spread the load by using some wood.
