Doing a custom build with C5 uprights and G96 transaxle.
I have in my possession 930 half shafts and C5 half shafts.
I’ve pulled the 930 inners off and placed them onto the C5 shafts.
However, I’m still left with shafts that are too short. About 3” actually. I found some EMPI CV joints that look to be about 1.5in in thickness which are bigger than the standard I think at 1in.
I’m trying to avoid buying new longer shafts as they’re prohibitively expensive.
Toying with the idea of a spacer much like a wheel spacer. Instead of the bolts going all the way through they’d be offset. I know it’s possible.
I’m thinking about 3d printing first, then maybe trying steel or aluminum?
