A Better Way To Fasten Panels !

I posted this under the Rivnuts thread but it is getting buried and I don't think anyone has seen it.
I found that you only need 3/32" material to tap and thread for a 10-32 screw. So instead of rivnuts or anchor plates I did this. It works beautifully. Try it you'll like it ! There is a couple spots where you will need the anchor nut plates or rivnuts. This is mostly on the center tunnel cover. But if the part is next to the frame steel it can be tapped and threaded.

How permanent are the tapped threads? As I
mentioned before, unless cemented in place,
rivnuts will eventually loosen if screws
are constantly screwed in and out.

I'm sure it doesn't happen overnight, but
I'd hate to have to redo all of it every
few years. Well, I guess it doesn't matter
all that much, since I expect to be constantly
improving the 40 once I get build it.
