Not knowing what all is included in the RCR Deluxe Plus kit, anyone is just guessing.
I had the Mark 1 version of that kit purchased almost 20 years ago and threw large amounts of money and work at it.
Does it include exhaust? Wheels? Etc. little things like shifter, throttle cables, radiator hoses, clamps, dashboard switches, et al can be a very large list.

Here is the link. I was going to screenshot, but the list is extensive.

As Randy said, there are a ton of parts that are necessary to complete the car. Best bet is to wait and get the kit, and go from there. Personally I have bought things 2 or 3 times because I don't have the car yet. Technology changes and new products come out all the time. I have purchased or had made many custom parts for my build. This includes billet brakes, custom one off gauges, billet hose clamps, custom raptor pro, and the list goes on. Many builders have a pile of parts left over either because something better came out, or it just wasn't the correct part. I have a small collection of them myself. Something you should consider is a engine to transaxle adapter plate (kit). Contact Flatchat on here as he has a excellent reputation for delivery and quality products. I would wait on my accessory mounts until you have the car. I believe the one that Prestige supplies does not fir the RCR chassis. I think if you search this site that information is on here. These are just my thoughts. PM some of the other RCR builders and ask their advise.

What are additional parts that I will need to buy to complete my GT40 besides the engine and transaxle? I have purchased a Deluxe Plus kit.

So much of this will depend on choices like alu motor vs iron, what transaxle, carb vs. EFI, dry/wet sump, lift kit or not, even 2k paint or old school single layer... so many variables. If you're truly looking to get a specific list, figure out exactly what you want to build and then break that down into components. This is a great place for information and assistance, but you won't get a substantially helpful answer without those details. Even so, there is a broad spectrum of options for each item- from CNC'd front dress belt and accessory setups to simple steel hangers for each component. So much of this depends on what you want to do.

If you're just looking more to get an idea of what to budget, you will spend more than you think. It's been a long time since I built mine and I probably spent an equivalent of the kit cost to build it- maybe a little bit less than that, but I also didn't keep close tabs on it. My build is pretty modest though.

Austin,
Like Chris, Brian & Randy have said, a lot of this is totally up to you. RCRs Deluxe Plus Kit has a lot of nice stuff in it, but they don't have a unique kit for each and every possible engine, trans, fuel system, car's usage, etc. Therefore, fuel system? Up to you. Insulation? Up to you. Powertrain? Up to you. Wiring connectors? Up to you. Tires? Up to you. Etc., etc. In addition, figure on spending a lot of $$ on bolts, nuts, washers, aluminum flat stock and more. I got to be very friendly with Trevor, my local UPS driver. I built my RCR40 Mk1 for the street, so I added custom leather door panels with map pockets & car-like interior door openers, a rear view camera mirror, heated seats (for those cool Michigan mornings), and adjustable pedals because my wife also drives it. None of this comes with the Deluxe Plus Kit and the cost adds up. Having said all this, it's a great kit! You'll have many hours of fun building it and making the car your own. And...the icing on the cake, of course, is the thrill of driving it!

I recommend you build a Bill of Materials and put it in excel or some other software that you can update FREQUENTLY. Separate by system and subsystem, and item. You will also need a fasteners list. You have to think every last final part to complete each subsystem and system. You will think it then rethink it many times. I spent months on this long before my car arrived and more months after it arrived and I realized that what I thought would work would not work. This is a completely separate work steam from actually building the car.

Just as one example: Exhaust - what header gaskets, what header bolts, what muffler fasteners, do you wrap the headers, what springs to hold down the mufflers, do you coat the exhaust, do you use O2 sensors for an AFR, and so on and so on and so on......

Austin -
What is your experience level?
Have you ever built a component (aka KIT) car before?
Have you studied the Build Logs here? Not just RCR either. Most manufacturers cars will have quite similar issues.

I have not built a kit car, but I have restored a model t and f100 pickup.
That’s a great start. Given that you’re aware of the various components in the construction of an automobile will definitely be of great value.
In case you’re not already aware -
You’ll find that the vast majority of “kits”, are not really all inclusive, insert tab-a into slot-b, kits with full instructions. RCR being one of the manufacturers that sell components, rather than unassembled kits. This, I’m told, affords you, the buyer, the latitude and opportunity to build a car “your way”, with the nuances and esthetics you prefer. In other words, you’re purchasing a pile of components that will loosely resemble a car - in this case, a GT40. EG - “Component Car” rather than “Kit Car”.
My point is - you’re going to sit down with the list of components that you’ve been given and determine what’s missing that will allow you to create a car to your standards.
Example: Fuel injected cars, require high pressure fuel pump(s) and lines, whereas carbureted cars are low pressure, etc.

Are you familiar with bodywork? Fiberglass bodywork? Fiberglass bodies rarely come to a show-car standard, they’re generally an early 60’s racecar without perfect symmetry, nor arrow straight panels.

This forum has shepherded many builders through the process by members making themselves available for questions and mentoring via the Build Logs and various sub-forums.
If you truly have the deep desire to do whatever it takes to make your dreams into reality, you’re in the right place. You may want to consider becoming a forum supporter also as this gives you additional benefits and helps us keep this place going.

To Randy's point, it's a nuance, but it's definitely not a "car kit".

I have the RCR Deluxe kit. Most of all the "hard" parts are include, and then there is engine/trans.
But like others mentioned, it is CUSTOM, and you'll need all sorts of odds/ends for your specific fuel and plumbing and electrical...
Especially Stainless Steel hardware (suggestion - buy in boxes of 50, not 4bolts/4nuts at a time).
We can all help you out here, Rod has personally (locally) been very helpful - thanks.

Good luck. Start your own build thread.

MY current status: drove around block, and parked for Michigan winter. Working on body now...
(yes - radiator overflow clamps were loose.., thus puddle)
