Check out Facet Duralift pumps. There's a large range of them, some with big-ish flow rates and all (I think!) will dry-prime between 1 and 3 metres above tank height.

I know what you mean about the look of the Duralift, as you say Red Tops better but i have heard some not great reviews on those. Carters look ok and Neil has run them so I think I may go that route.
So I got 2 Carters, initial thoughts are not great, they were clearly different batches as the brackets were very different black so I sprayed them both to match, fitted the first pump fine, the second had really odd nuts securing it, the first pump were 9mm these were bigger but not metric or imperial?
Bit bigger than 10mm or 3/8 but not of my spanner set fitted. Also the connector nuts, one was really hard to fit, anyhow tried to fit and with a really small turn of the nut the stud sheared!!
Seems the manufacturers sent a really odd bag of fixings, the bracket nuts and bolts were again really odd, gold coloured bolts with steel rusty nuts?
So lets see what the seller says, could do without hassle but hey ho!!
