Another First Post

Hey all!

Big GT40 fan who just found out about the site. Was talking to a customer at my workplace and we were talking about GT40's and mentioned I should join. I always enjoy learning more about these beasts but honestly was stoked to know there was a way to increase my odds of seeing one from: "Holy-geez!!! LOOK over there! To the left of that unicorn and just past that pot of gold attatched to the rainbow...THATS A GT40!!!!!"

So clearly I don't own a GT40 myself but am interested in getting closer, even if it's just researching the best way for a budget build of a replica.

A little about myself - Other car interests:
Like old american hot rods/customs (have a 51 plymouth project), Have had a handful of VW's (still have a fastback), Subaru's are another interest, restored/modified a BRAT and had a heavily modified-for-offroad wagon. Also 2 Subaru wagons make up the daily driver part of the fleet. I'm even am stoked about my 73 Chev. camper van project. I just like cool vehichles in general.

All that Said - My name is Erik, thanks for being here!

Welcome to GT40s.com Erik!

Yep, sounds like you've been bitten by the GT40 bug!

May I add my welcome too Erik, Never heard the rarity of these beasts put quite the way you did but I think we all know what you mean. Until you "get in the game" you rarley see one. Being a fortunate owner I always allow interested people a chance to sit in or even be taken for a drive in mine. I see it as preserving the future by sparking the interest of others. I hope you realise your dream and get to own one of these truly amazing cars.

Thanks for the warm welcome you guys. So far I've been blown away by all the different projects / approaches to individual GT40's. I never realized there was such diversity of cars within such a micro-niche as the GT-40. Lots to look at for sure!
