Anti roll bar

I can tell you that current Fords are tubular 4130. They are heat treated, but I don't know if this is just because they weld mild steel ends on them, or also because of the strain hardnening from forming the bends.

My rear anti-roll bar was made by a race car manufacturer out of 3/4" o.d.T45 half hard bar. They made it to my measurements which were slightly too wide. They weren't pleased when I asked them to make me another one as it is very difficult to bend without a good bender.

Does anyone know the correct material spec to use for anti roll bars and the drop links ?
I assume it to be a mild steel but does it have to a particular grade and or heat treated ?
