Are Robots Taking Over?

I think its all bollocks , they are only good for repetitive tasks.
How about this then. Get a human to sweep off the patio, get the power washer out of the shed and give the patio a quick blast, put the power washer away not forgetting to empty it of all water, get a spanner out of the workshop to swap the gas bottle over on the barbi and bung the empty in the back of the car. It would take a human half an hour tops for that lot , it would probably take a geek a year to program one of these metal mickeys to achieve part of the task. I think and pray we are safe for the minute.

The robot wont give a **** about patio, or the power washer or need a bar b q,, wont know one tree from another, only thing you need to worry about is some geek working out how to make them reproduce themselves....then your really in the poo........

Yes, they are progressively taking over. Lots of jobs have been lost to them. Simple ones at first, then some in which some claimed it couldn't be done. It all is so perfect in that those that implement robot replacement of human labor, will exacerbate the income gap even more than it is. Even now a robot can flip burgers, replace legal investigators, and very proficiently write news and sports stories. What will be the next task that was claimed to be beyond the reachof a robot? At some point in our future, man is going to have to come to terms on the betterment of man, and not the betterment of his pocket-book.
