Are you offended?

If anyone says anything offensive about people over 60, we will find you and cut all of your fingernails back to the quick! You have been warned. Aged one be praised!!

I think it's unfortunate that it has come to this in the sense that even I am less tolerant of the entire situation unfolding on a global scale. I watch the more visible struggles England and France must deal with, and I catch myself thinking, "enough is enough". Perhaps I find that as I get older, I have less energy to devote to collaboration and communication (with folks that are vastly different than I), and consequently, I fall back onto what I'm comfortable with...what I was raised on...which is the intentional inclusion, or the embracing, of the indigenous culture into my own (no matter where I chose to live). I fear this whole thing is going to end badly (for someone) based on what I've seen thus far.

I'm offended by most of the things this gentleman listed.

Most of all, though, I think I'm offended that the United States has taken it upon themselves to become the "bully" of the world...either do what we like to be done or we'll come after you with such force you'll submit out of fear...doesn't work for me, won't work for those crazy Islamist/ISIS zealots either. I'm offended that we are trying to interject ourselves into their civil war...what would we have done if other countries tried to interject themselves into ours (as I am led to believe did happen)? We would most assuredly have responded like ISIS did, believing that the new "intruders" were enemies just like the enemies we were already fighting.

I'm more in favor of an isolationist policy than one involving bullying half-way across the world. Take care of our own issues first, then if we have time, money and manpower left over we can attempt to help some of the more deserving countries among our allies.

Last of all, I'm offended that we may well be targeted by the same weapons that we are donating to the Syrian "resistance fighters"...just as ISIS is doing right now with the weapons we left in Iraq (or was it Iran???).

I'm with Jack, too....as I grow older I find myself becoming less tolerant and more easily offended--after all, I've tried for 65 years to tell 'em all what to do to fix their problems, and so far nobody has paid much attention. Now, THAT offends me!!!

Cheers!!

One more time: BULLIES never act out of/have good intentions.

We are? 'Odd. I thought we were simply going after ISIS...you know, the outfit that's 'after' US? 'Didn't realize we had somehow matter-of-factly choosen sides in some other conflict that happened to be going on in the same place at the same time...

I'm more in favor of an isolationist policy than one involving bullying(:squint:) half-way across the world.

Your man in D.C. has followed that very same line of thinking...which created a power vacuum in the area...not to mention emboldening Putin, China and Iran to name a few. NOW look where we are globally.

Yet another consequence of you man's failure to listen to his military advisors.

No question that the 3 of us agree completely there.

But, the focus of the thread is the domestic, "offended Muslims" thing...so...

I am offended that people come to a country and don't assimilate with the language and customs of that country. I could never understand why people would want to have their new country like the one they came from, stay the fuck home if that's the case. This is America, if you don't like the way it is, go find a desert island and start your own culture. Sick of bitchers and whiners!

They are more than that Larry, they are as cunning as shithouse rats and manipulate the system. Some are what I call economic refugees, they arrive in your country and mine not because they are threatened in theirs but because they know they will get free housing, medical care, and all sorts of welfare.
Then rather than assimilate they try and enforce their values and religious laws on us. They form ghettos where citizens are afraid to enter. Say anything against them and you are branded a racist. Why we have even passed laws prohibiting people from speaking out against them. They condone paedophilia I.E. Child marriages and we turn a blind eye to that because of "cultural differences". I'm offended by that!
In part I agree with Doug, stay out of their country and let the tribes fight it out, it may help clean up the Gene pool a little. But close the borders and don't let any more invade your country and attempt to change your lifestyle any more than it already has.

HA!!! With the administration we have now there's a faaaaaaar better chance we'll see water buffalo flying...in formation...inverted...at about 30,000 feet. That outfit S-U-E-S states who pass their own STATE LAWS that try to do just that! :veryangry:
