Well, for those of you not familiar with my saga, I’ve finally received final sanction from the California Bureau of Automotive Repair, the institution that grants smog exemption to specially constructed vehicles in this state.
I appreciate all of the information and support given to me by members of this forum. It was a LONG and stressful process, 23 months since I first ventured into an inspection station. While I had accumulated lots of information, and thought long and hard about how to best make my case, I think that the real difference was finally dealing with a reasonable and perhaps somewhat sympathetic individual in the state bureaucracy.
I still have one more trip to the DMV to present the accumulated paperwork, but that should be a mere formality.
For those of you considering a Superformance, be very careful about how your MSO/COO is worded. Lance Stander and I had a discussion about this, so hopefully nobody in the future will run into the problems I did. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
