I was wondering what do you think torque wise a quattro box could handle when converted to 2wd. If to say you wouldn't use a v8. I know blasphemy. Just curious.
Hi Guys,
I have an 01X here in the box, meant to get a Quattro version but was sent a fully rebuilt unit that is FWD.
Do let me know if anyone is interested in this as I think can serve you well but is nothing for me.
I'm located in New Jersey and you may hit me up and we'll set something up.
Thanks in advance
Paul
:wrongforum: First post for you. This should be in the garage sale, read the forum rules that you just signed up to. This is about tech info on the 01X.
i have tryed the search with no result..:/
But thanx for the reply..=)

01e > 0a2 > 01x > 016
Here is what i have found out
Audi changed the transmission number 01E to 01X on 2wd trans year 2002-2005 ,but the 4wd still had the 01E numbers.
But the thing is.
I need to find out if the 01X and 01E Have the same mount to the frame..
and if i can use the 01E adaptorplate for ford 302 on the 01X???

If anyone can confirm those details for the 0A2, particularly the axle base, it would be very useful.
I'm not sure what you mean by axle base...
I will be using the shifter that Fran supplies for my 01X box. I know that a memebr has already used it on his 01E. The shifter, I think, is made for an 016/5000, and requires a little 'tweaking' for the 01E/01X. However, the forum member says he is extreamly happy with his and changes smoothly.

Unfortunately, the guide doesn't include details of the 0A2, so I was looking to corroborate if it is a 2WD cousin of the latter 0A3 and shares its 82mm axle base.
