I remember my very first car was at my18 an Autobianchi A112,from 1981. I changed the rims with bigger wider ones (and 185 tyre..),all painted in flat black, to look as if a nascar wheel.
LOVE too much that:D ,gives a lot of aggressive look to the car (sure..maybe a little too much...yep..).
There is a picture here around in the gallery about the profile of a green gt40 with black rims...for me that picture is a real fury.:pepper:

..but also with some silver is too nice;)

I think Ron McCall has flown the flag for all black wheels very sucessfully with his RCR40 replica of FEL1C. I am sure a lot of people will follow his lead and in particular having the red and green left and right detailing on the spinners took his car to a very high level!

Yep...love em. Of course they have to go with the whole package...;) Can't just throw em on any car.

I love them matte black, and all black. Especially track wheels. Had a set on my old S4, nice contrast to the pretty silver street wheels.

I think the black wheels look totally sinister..
Ron's RCR/GT40 is just bad-2-the-bone!!!

Pat - that looks gorgeous!!!

Here is a nice shot of GT40P/1065 showing blacken wheel centers with polished rims and spinners. Also note the ground clearance front to back and the spacing between the tires and fenders.

I forget who the famous pro football running back was....but he said that, "Black shoes make you look slow." Give me wheels that you can see rotating. (Except, of course, for those "bling" wheel covers that keep spinning even after you stop!)

I like black wheels, I finally went for it and painted them. It did take me a lot longer than I though it would to strip then gold stuff off but it's done now. I intend to have them powder coated when I have them apart to change tires latter this summer. What do you think of Betty's new Look?

I'll post another one when the sun comes out. I should have used the flash. But it just started to rain and I got in a hurry to get back in the garage.

(Except, of course, for those "bling" wheel covers that keep spinning even after you stop!) .............WHAT??

1. PS "black wheels" really do look the business on a -40.
2. PPS "black wheels" has a sinister connotation in certain circles here in
the UK.
