Bonnieville salt flats

I drove my twin turbo subie powered Vanagon to CA and decided to be on the safe side I would take the northern route (interstate 80) just in case my mechanical abilities were to not up to snuff, I am proud to report that not one one single problem, so I will take Hwy 50 back to AR when I return. Well the reason I started this tread is I got to see the salt flats, actually get out and walk on it and will say that I don't even want my car close to it, I would be nervous about driving next to it on a paved road in one of our cars, (exception for the stainless CAV) as beautiful and mysterious as it is it has to be hell on cars. How would you prevent your car from being eat by corrosion? I would like to go to speed week sometime but don't think I would like to put my Vanagon on it.

I have been to the salt flats more than a few times and the salt washes off pretty easily - you just don't want to let it stay on for extended periods.

Twin turbo Subaru....wow....how many ponies? How fast have you had it?

Its the JDM WRX sequential turbo motor, I have two different figures from subie forums, of 250 HP and 280 at 10 psi, I screwed up the CVs just after getting done at 14 psi so I dropped the boost down to 7-8 psi hoping to save the transaxle. Still pulling hard at 85 MPH but I am not sure if any of these vans have ever been 85 before. It turns some heads when you shift and the bypass valve opens.

"Zip" is either a Jack Russel or the biggest fox terrier I have ever seen. He's my buddy, we go everywhere together. I got him 6 months ago, he was owned by an elderly woman who could not keep him any longer, great dog and well behaved.
