Quick question to the CAV owners here now that I have the registry info into a database (.xls) of sorts: is it desirable and acceptable to make it available to all forum members? Or, maybe just make it available to those CAV owners who supplied an email address?

Please share your thoughts on this point. I want to make sure we're respectful of people's personal data while still gaining the benefits of a registry....

No problems here either...
BTW, Cliff, never got the copy I requested; I guess yu were waiting for this group's nod of approval?

Cheers! and thanks for the work.

Finally know what the serial number is. 063.
Still in San Diego at Roy's wharehouse. With RBT working hard I am sure within a reasonable time the car can move cross country for final assembly at HRE. My record for waiting for a car is 18 years and waiting.
This is a bad time of year to drive it in NC anyway. Late spring/summer is a wonderful time to get to know a new vehicle. Have plenty to drive so not hurting for wheels.

Cliff,

Besides you in Seattle, are their any other CAVs or other mfgs near us?

I talked to a neighbor that is connected to the Portland Roadster Show, and he said a guy that is entering his car this year (a hot rod) also has a Ford GT40. My neighbor was not sure if he meant a new Ford GT or a GT40? I do know several years ago, I remember seeing a GTD (In Essex colors) in the Portland Roadster Show that had a For Sale sign in the window. I never found out any information on the GTD.

Not trying to hijack your thread, but just trying to see if any other 40s are near the Portland area?

Hi Gary,

I'm not positive about Portland, but, in Seattle I believe there are only two complete/on-the-road gt40 replicas - mine in Sand Point area and a nice fellow by the name of Neil in Redmond has one also. There's a nice fella in the Arlington area in the middle of a build and also I believe there's one being built in Blaine (might be complete now??). I wouldn't be completely surprised if there was an original up here owned by a Microsoftee but it's probably not widely known. There are one or two other guys who are in the process of ordering Superformance gt40s from Park Place LLC in Bellevue but I don't believe any have been delivered yet.

In Portland I'm not aware of any complete/on-the-road gt40s.

Cliff,

Thanks for the reply.

Tom Armstrong of Redmond owns P1033. Usually visits the Portland Historics. It is beautiful, and my favorite color....Red.

Bear with me as I'm very computor chalenged. I am the owner of 134 currently being built. My name is Randy and owning a gt40 is a dream. Last year I purchased a Pantera. That got me on the track for the first time in my life. I was hooked but was tearing up the Pantera. seeing CAV's and being impressed ,Roy sold my Pantera and ordered me a Black one without stripes. The plan is for a 347 stroker webers and a zf.Looking forward to having a solid track car I can also drive on street.:pepper:
I am enjoying the web site. I have built lots of cars, currently I am working with Michael Leeds we call ourselves the Blastolene Bros. You can see my work at Blastolene.com
thanks and I'll try to stay in touch.

I would like to add my vehicle to the CAV Registry: #58 Mono, Brittany Blue with Whimbleton White stripes, Twin Nostrils, assembled by Billy Andrews of HRE, 302 w/aluminum heads-396HP, 670cfm 4bbl, Getrag 5 speed, BRM 15" knockoffs, all Smiths instruments/gauges, Gurney Bubble.

This GT40 is currently in Reno awaiting the WSCB in May, then will be participating in the SAAC event @ Miller Motorsports Park--Utah in July, then will be shipped home to Hawaii. I would like to meet as many CAV or GT40 owners who may be attending either the WSCB or SAAC events.

I know this is probably a little late, but... I have mono #66. It is red with white stripes. bored and stroked to 427 with 48 ida's and ZF 5 sp. 17" Halibrands and twin nostrils. Motor and trans built by PI Motorsports in orange ca. Location, Seattle area.

Ok, seeing that two other people have the #66 car, I have concluded that the last 2 didgets of the serial number is not the # of the car. So... I have serial number 1A61MONOB66. I guess this makes my car # 61. Sorry for the confusion. tom

Rich, It's kind of cool you have a list of some cars. I now own #61 which you have on your list which I bought a year ago and #2 is now on ebay with some damage to the front and rear deck lid. I think trying to keep up on a current list may be a pretty daunting task. good luck! tom

Hi Rich,

Cav #82 is mine, it's still waiting for the engine to be completed. Body has gone through some changes, color is still yellow but now sports a 13" wide black stripe, Ford GT40 sill stripes, blacked out head and side light areas, a pair of rear brake scoops, all duct areas filled with stainless grills and fitted with rear view camera. Now waiting on a pair of canards from RCR....

Cheers,

Turnkey and enjoying it !!
Big help and thanks for Ian Clark of "Cav Canada" and Dennis Cann of "Cresenta Valley Ford Specialist" California, and Corey Gehling of "Collecter's Choice" Wisconsin.
Road regestered in CA. SB100 !!
It has been incredible to experience a 18 year dream!!
Especially with my wife Joie and my son Andrew (6)
Our CAV's are truly modern day production cars!!
The more I read and share makes me even more gratefull !
Thank's everyone,

I'm totally new at this forum stuff so please forgive any sins. I recently took delivery of Autofutura chassis 129 as a kit. Bought it thru Roy at VIP in San Diego and am presently beginning assembly. Unfortunately I must move soon from the Las Vegas area to Albuquerque and am scrambling to get the thing on the ground so my moving co. can roll it into the moving van. I won't let it be moved exposed! I have the suspension pretty much on and have ordered wheels and tires but need shocks/springs. Jean sent me the specs for SPAX shocks but can't seem to find any US distributors. Any suggestions for KONI or other brands? Front spring rate is 450 and 600 for the rear. The car has the body mounted but I will move everything else in boxes. I'm trying to get it to roller status ASAP.
No engine or gearbox (to be added) but just about everything else is there.

Specs on car:
Viper Yellow, twin nostril, Gulf wide body, black twin center stripes, BRM 17" knockoffs.
Chassis 21A129MONOB64AF

This has been a life long dream of mine and I figure it will take a couple of years to complete and I will be asking a LOT of questions (probably many of the stupid sort). The manual is fairly nebulous in many areas.
