chassis weight

Hi,

im intrested in knowing, the weights of various chassis

An original GT 40 chassis

MK 4 Alluminium Honycomb chassis

RCR GT 40 chassis

RCR lightweight chassis

Average space frame chassis, with all the panelling in done

A carbon fibre chassis

And any other relavant information

I hope this makes an intresting thread .....

might not get too many answers unless the manufactures are weighing them.

My scratch build chassis came in at 270 lbs fully sheeted. Total car weight wet with 5 gal gas was 2170 lbs.

I read somewhere recently that the Honeycomb MKIV chassis was under 100lb, dont know whether that included all the brackets etc or even if it was a 'whole' chassis.

While its an interesting Question, it is also not likely to give you a really definitive answer with all the extra bits that bolt on etc or the different wall thickness of material used by some

The ERA stainless monocoque is 275 lbs, including the roll bar and rear subframe. No extra filler panels are needed in the passenger compartment.

I believe I recall the RCR 40 MK1 chassis comes in at 300# sans suspension and body of course.
I know that I have no trouble lifting one end of it...
