corvette transaxle

anyone ever look at the c6 corvette transaxles? any way to convert? i had a z06 and it appears to have a vestigal bellhousing? they're plenty strong, and should be relatively easy to find.

Scott,

The C5/C6 transaxles are very similar. And both are too
long for a GT40 (the CV joints are set too far back in
the unit).

Scott,

Here is a good picture of automatic setup out of a corvette. The 6 sp is configured the same. As you can see it is very long and the distance from the input shaft to the output shafts are way to long.

i agree, after looking at pictures of the transaxles, they are way too long.anybody ever heard of a gt40 long wheelbase !??

Hmmm ... a stretched GT40 with a hot tub!

Now that would be "pimpin' a ride." /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

We looked at it for our car. and we may use it in the future But the customers that I have now are Chevy phobic. the size advantage, in our cars will lets us run a lot of dif rent drive trains.A 4.6 whit a ZF has 17" of room in frunt of it, we needed enugh room for a 800CI V12. Just kiding, er probubly not though
