David Morton - Your Wish Has Been Granted

It must be amazing to live in a world where a $500,000 car (Lamborghini) isn't the car that gets top billing in the article.

Yes, that's the world I live in.

well, what I actually mean is that I got clamped outside Harrods too!!

Mind you, the bit I don't get is that it cost me £115 to get the clamp taken off. It seems that once again, the more you have the less you pay!

As Pete rightly says - small change to these idiots.
The same car (the koenisegg) was double parked outside the hotel
beside 1 Hyde Park and reduced the traffic from a very busy double lane
to tight single lane and the traffic problem was even mentioned on the radio station LBC but nothing was done. The Qataris own the hotel.
The other news was a Lambo Murc was towed in the city because it had no insurance and valid drivers licence.
Apparently part of the parking problem is the cars plates are in gobblewrite ( yes - a new name alongside the Black sacks nomenclature ) and are registered in Qatar so the owners are untraceable. They are keen to pay the fines as quickly as possible to prevent any probing questions.
Their latest craze is to run these things -at night - in a procession around some of the squares in Knightsbridge, Kensington and Westminster in first or second gear bouncing off the rev limiters.
About a week or so ago coming out of London another Qatari Lambo was just ahead of me in heavy stop go traffic and inevitably with little or no cooling, it was steaming away but instead of pulling over and stopping, he kept right on until the inevitable massive loss of coolant. He just jumped out and got in another car going the other way and left the car in the right lane.

Only $70.00 if you pay the fine within 14 days, $ 120 otherwise. According to the article.

Of course. Hast thee not heard of "The Golden Rule":

"He with the gold RULES."

Over here, the biggest group parking/traffic ticket offenders are in New York City. They're called "United Nations Delegates/Diplomats."
